The “NV Maatschapij voor Waschverwerking ERDAL” based in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, was a company that produced cleaning products. It was founded in 1915 by Mr. Johan Wolbers and ceased to exist in 1983. The logo of the ERDAL factory was a red pelican and they used the brand name PELI. In the mid 1950’s till the end of the 1950’s, the ERDAL factory had many VW Busses as company vehicles and they used this as a promotional item.
In 1955, they had a sweepstake; with every tin of Peli wax, a cardboard VW Bus was given as a bonus and one also entered a price draw with the chance to win a 1:18 scale tin Volkswagen Beetle.
