A beautiful and extremely rare example of a very early plastic Split VW. "Made in Germany" suggest prewar or war period and the body details of the car also depict a very early model. On the other side, hardly any plastic toy car was made before or during the war, except for the Eckert & Ziegler.... so, quite a mystery. One-piece body with open windows with very accurate details. On the inside of the roof section there is a large round mould mark. Black plastic wheels with the large VW logo on metal axles. The metal base plate is hold to the plastic body by moulded tabs. The chassis shows the name of WAGNER and Made in Germany. The base plate shows a rectangular and tab opening for a motor however no visible signs that this model ever had a motor.
