Manfred Urban Plastikspielwaren (MANURBA), Bamberg, Germany produced these plastic Split Window VWs with solid windows and details of the front and rear hood, doors and headlights. It was stamped with number 1 or 2 inside the roof. No chassis and plastic wheels and metal or plastic (post 1963) axles attached to the body. This split VW was specially produced by MANURBA for the Austrian Company called Heinerle, who included the cars in their pouches with many different cheap plastic toys for kids! In the late 1960’s this split was copied in Hong Kong and was sold with 5 other vehicles including a VW Single Cab and 10 plastic road signs. That display card is labeled “Made in Hong Kong NO. 1285.”
