ECA was a company located in Barcelona, Spain. ECA copied many toys from the neighbouring company EKO, also located in Barcelona. The EKO splits on the other hand were copies of the German Wiking splits...... Unclear is whether EKO and ECA had a business connection.
One piece plastic model with plastic clear windows. The body seems to exists of clear plastic, which has been painted by hand. Metal axles with plastic wheels on a beige or black chassis. The first model shown is a Barcelona Taxi (typical yellow and black coloring) from the early fifties. On the chassis it reads “Volkswagen”, the ECA logo and “A-3”.
The second version has a white body and a black roof, like the Guardia Civil cars of that time. The headlights are painted red.
A third and fourth version is painted with a red top, blue body and yellow fenders. It came in 2 variations.
The fifth version is also a taxi version with the taxi lettering on the passenger- and the driversdoor.
Please note: the paintwork is ORIGINAL. And yes, it looks like a repaint, but it definitely is NOT. The unpainted toys were distributed to homeworkers who painted them at home in predefined colourschemes.
