FRITZ WÜNNERLEIN & Co (WÜCO), was founded in 1906 and located in Zirndorf, Germany. During the pre WWII era, WÜCO mainly produced savings boxes and during the post war era, mechanical toys and cars as well. They produced this tin plate body with a very nice detailed red & white lithograph Oval Window VW design. People’s faces in the windows. Tin chassis with bumpers and a key wound clockwerk motor with rubber tires. There is a key hole on the driver’s side rear quarter panel. Some later versions had friction motors and no key hole. License plate number of WÜCO 126-7. The body and the chassis has a similar metal mold stamping design to the HÖRNDLEIN FH126 and the WÜNNERLEIN Split Window VWs. There is also a seldom found version of the WÜNNERLEIN Oval Window VW with a colorful circus funny car lithograph design with license plate "WÜCO -121".
