Skandinavisk Motor Co. A/S (Scandinavian Motor Company, or SMC), located in Copenhagen, Denmark, was founded by the brothers Axel and Johannes Semler in 1917. In 1949 they became the general car importer for Volkswagen in Denmark and they currently still are.
This dark blue ceramic Oval Window Volkswagen savings bank was a promotional item from SMC. The VW savings bank was produced in various colors.
