Well, it was not long until another toy manufacturer noticed the popularity of the DUX Volkswagen kit and tooled up to produce a similar kit. The company was Matsudya of Japan. The USA represented a very good market for the Japanese toys being produced in that 1950s time period, but the trademark or brand name of Matsudaya was considered out of place back then.
