TOY NOMURA Co., Tokyo, Japan was founded in 1923 and used a trademark of T.N inside a diamond. In the 1950's and 1960's they were of the largest toy manufacturers of Japan. In 1993, the company was bought by HASBRO, Inc. TOY NOMURA, like many other Japanese toy manufacturers, produced toys for the USA market and used the toy importer CRAGSTAN, based in New York.

A very nice tin plate Volkswagen Convertible with the top down. Tin body painted red and there are metal trim pieces that include headlights, VW hood emblem, side trim and door handles. The red plastic windshield insert and a black plastic folded down top attaches to the body. The front hood opens and the spare tire is removable. The interior has a lithograph design detailing the dashboard, luggage, purse and a LIFE magazine. Tin seats and steering wheel finish off the details. The tin chassis, with shiny tin bumpers, is painted black and has an electric motor with rubber tires and metal hubcaps. At the rear it has the license plate "AB-0753". There is a battery compartment for two “D” cell batteries and a switch that operates a “Bump-N-Go” motor. Also, has working headlights and horn sound. No driver on this version. This model appears (in all aspects) to have been made by the Toy Nomura factory. It is believed this is a pre-production sample.
