IRWIN OVAL VW

This Oval Window VW was manufactured in the 1950s by the IRWIN Corp. of Fitchburg, Mass. IRWIN made celluloid novelty toys beginning about 1922 and switched to plastic during the 1940s. In 1903, the Company of GEORG FISCHER was founded. They mainly produced small toys and cars with and without clockwork motor. The Company ceased to exist in 1958.

ENDOH OVAL VW

Tin body with cut out windows and fair details of front and rear hood, door seams and rear oval window with air louvers. Tin headlights and VW hood emblem. Tin chassis with a friction motor and rubber tires with hubcaps. Tin bumpers appeared in various styles. The chassis is marked JAPAN with or without the ENDOH insignia.

LAURÖSCH SPLIT VW

A very nicely detailed stamped metal form by LAURÖSCH, from the town of Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany. The form is used to make chocolate VWs. The door windows are open and it shows the driver and the co-driver!

The white plaster car shown in the pictures is made from the chocolate form.

The length of the car is approximately 103 mm.

HAUSSER KdF WAGEN VW V5

In 1904 Christian Hausser and his sons Max and Otto founded the HAUSSER Company, although it initially was named Müller & Freyer. Starting from 1912 the Company was renamed into O&M HAUSSER.
