UNKNOWN SPLIT VW RUBBER 00

It shows some resemblance to the Finnish Nokia rubber split, but the maker is unknown. The toy is made of foam rubber, the wheels are incorporated into the body. The chasis shows details of the indentations of the original split chassis.

FRÖHA-NEUHIERL KdF WAGEN VW

The FRÖHA Company was founded in 1935 in Hipoltstein, Germany by Hans Frömter and mainly produced figurines, but also these KdF game pieces. This small VW was produced as a game piece for a game. The one piece elongated body with wheels was made from wood chips, glue and painted in several dull colors. Details of the windows, front and rear hood, headlights and taillights can be seen.

LS OVAL VW

The constructed Oval Window Volkswagen model was made by a professional toy modeler in the late 1950s, most probably a very early release of LS models. LS manufactured model kits of cars, planes, motorbikes and guns from the 1950's (??) until their bankrupcy in 1992. As from the 1960's on, they produced primarily plastic models.

A porcelain electric cigarette lighter in the shape of an Oval Window Volkswagen Sedan. Silver paint used to outline the windows, doors, front hood, headlights, bumpers and oval rear window. Metal disk on the roof gets hot enough to light a cigarette. Rated at 250 volts.

These were given as a promotional item by many of the driving schools and auto dealers in Holland during the late 50s and early 60s.
