In the late 1800’s and the 1900’s, there were many small cigar factories located in The Netherlands. One of them was the company Dejaco from the town of Culemborg, who manufactured the “Graaf Egbert” cigar brand. The paper cigar logos wrapped around the cigars were very colorful with many different motives. Graaf Egbert at one time in the fifties used an oval window Volkswagen.

But there were also many companies who used cigars as marketing material. They designed logo’s themselves and wrapped them on cigars to give them to valued customers. Here are 3 examples shown from the car dealerships of: Jan van Ravensberg from Arnhem, Toon Gijzen from Breda and M. Bol and sons from Heerjansdam.

They are all from the 1950s era with the old style VW Sedan graphics used.
