A children’s picture books factory called  G. Löwensohn (the predecessor of Pestalozzi Verlag) was established on 1 October 1856 by Gerson Löwensohn in Fürth, Germany. They mainly produced paper cut models, cards, painting and picture books. At the end of the 1920’s they acquired a small printing company, called Pestalozzi. During the time of National Socialism, the Jewish owners were forced to sell the company in 1937 to May AG (KAMAG) in Dresden. The company was converted into a limited company and the name was changed into (the non-Jewish sounding) Pestalozzi Verlag.
In the 1950s and 1960s they became one of the leading children's book publishers. The Pestalozzi Verlag as such does not exist anymore as it became part of several mergers.

This is a children’s story book, Der tüchtige PETER, that was produced in Germany around 1955 by PV PESTALOZZI VERLAG. It is very interesting that the cover of the book has a Vintage Karmann VW Cabriolet on the front cover.
